New social media campaign launched on World Mental Health Day
We asked real people to share their experiences of mental health stigma and discrimination to highlight that we all have a part to play in tackling stigma. Here at Stigma Free Lanarkshire, we envision a world where everyone feels comfortable talking openly about mental health, knowing that they won’t be judged or discriminated against for doing so. A world that is Stigma Free.
Michael shared his experience of receiving no support for his mental health at work, after bravely speaking up. Stigma Free Lanarkshire are supporting workplaces to feel confident talking about mental health, and providing resources and signposting information to ensure the workplace is a Stigma Free environment. Caitlin shared her inspiring message about peer support whilst volunteering for FAMS Charity. Peer support is a powerful way to create a Stigma Free environment, and improve mental health and well-being for all those involved.
