Inter-generational event
North Lanarkshire Carers Together have been working in partnership with Stigma Free Lanarkshire, SAMH, NHS Lanarkshire Health Improvement, and Voice of Experience Forum. This month they teamed up with Airdrie Academy to host an inter-generational event at their Mental Health Festival to promote good mental health for all.
The aim of the event was to facilitate discussion and understanding between generations in relation to what can impact your mental health, and exploring areas of difference/commonality to learn from each other.
In addition, there were stalls providing well being information and resources, carer information including information on carers rights, and the opportunity to sign the Stigma Free Lanarkshire pledge.
Hannah and Rachel from the SFL team were there to speak on stigma and discrimination at the mental health awareness workshop. There was also a workshop on suicideTALK, where guests learned how to have a conversation about mental health with their peers and older people in their communities.
