Mental Health Matters Magazine – Cover Competition Winners 2021
The team here at Lanarkshire Links and Stigma Free Lanarkshire decided we needed to encourage some positivity back into our lives. We know that getting creative is great for your wellbeing and can be a vital coping strategy for dealing with mental health issues.
With many community activities across Lanarkshire postponed, we wanted to create an opportunity for people to be involved in something creative and positive.
We invited everybody who lives, works and /or studies in Lanarkshire to submit a photograph or piece of art to be used as the cover image for the summer edition of Mental Health Matters magazine.
Lanarkshire Link’s Trustees volunteered to make up the judging panel.
1st Place – £50 Amazon Voucher
The winner selected was Lynn Shields.
2nd Place – £30 Amazon Voucher
The judges chose Laura Houston
“I work in North Lanarkshire however after a move to North Ayrshire last year, I have found the beach to be a much-needed retreat to aide me in taking care of my mental health, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. I have felt incredibly fortunate that Ardrossan beach was so close-by, especially when we were instructed to stay at home apart from local exercise, I found taking my dogs to the beach to be such a source of relaxation and joy. The attached photo was taken last night on Ardrossan beach. Our dogs love nothing more than a good swim in the sea, and this photo captures them waiting for my partner to throw their ball out into the water.”
3rd Place – £20 Amazon Voucher
In third place is a picture taken by Fiona Angus.
“ We are all at different stages, reach out”
